What’s with the show of Payaso Tijon?
The apparent deceptive publicity of an infantile spectacle presented over
the two last weekends at Berisso theater tend to generate adverse
reactions on people of Villaguay. The auspice granted to the show by the City Council
aroused the dilemma of how much official support a private trade should have.

The jump of the Lambs
As informed by Senasa officers, the exports of lamb in January-April of 2004
amounted 4,363 tons, representing an income of U$S 11,357,000. These numbers
surpassed the last year's total shipments. The main destiny of the exports was Spain.

A great number of delegations at Festidanza
Delegations from in and outside the country, hundreds of spectators and a
whole bunch of luxurious folk music were the outcome of the 10th edition of
Festidanza, which took place last weekend in Instituto La Imaculada.
The remarkable opening show made a review of the typical dances of
diverse regions of Argentina.

Celebrating pets in Villa Clara Museum
In order to commemorate the Animal's Day, the Regional Historical Museum of Villa
Clara formed a show of photos and drawings that portrays some of the local
pets and their proud owners, along with reflections and tales written by children.
The work has been elaborated by students of the 84th School and Abejitas kinder
and will be open until May 21st.

The Pie Festival: a huge success
The second edition of the Regional Festival of the Pie proved
to be a great success this autumn. A great number of professionals
showed their products in the main square of the town and in the
hall of Sociedad Italiana. Alba Restaldo won the first prize
for her special presentation of a giant 'pastel' (tipycal meal).
The closing act of the festival included a musical show with
performances of the El Sauce ballet, the Sahara
Raqisa ballet of Arab dances,'Nelo Montes y su conjunto' and 'Los
Majestuosos de chamame'.

Young girl from Villaguay wins poetry contest
Ana Maria Trussi was awarded the first prize in the XIII
National Poetry Contest created by Los Poetas del Encuentro,
from Villa Ballester (Buenos Aires). Trussi will receive a medal
and a diploma during the ceremony that will be held in May.
"I didn't knew that I had won -said Trussi-. I just
found out reading the newspapers."

AM Stray cow hits young woman
Sandra Noemi Gonzalez, 20, suffered minor injuries yesterday afternoon after being ran
over by a cow. Some witnesses said that the cow had escaped of
the Sociedad Rural Villaguay, and after crossing an
extensive area, came out in the South part of the
city, where Gonzalez was present. The girl was taken to
Santa Rosa Hospital and doctors said that she
had suffered only minor injuries.

AM Sandra Sanchez ratified most
of the cabinet Mayor Sandra Sanchez ratified this
Thursday great part of the cabinet named by former Mayor
Carlos Fuertes, who died last month. At the opening session
of the Villaguay City Council, Sanchez announced
a general moratoria that will include all the municipal
rates and referred to the thermal project, saying
that "in addition to the therapeutic function we have
conceived a recreational project and the development of
productive and industrial activities, so this resource
prohangs to the greater benefit of the city".
